VaccinationsIf you come to Thailand you may want to get the following vaccinations before you leave home: Hepatitis A (gulsot) + Touristdiarrea + polio + tetanus (stivkrampe/stelkramp) + Difteritis If you’re planning to stay longer than 3 months it is also recommend that you get vaccinated against: Malaria:The risk to contract Malaria in Thailand is very low.Malaria should only concern you, if you’re planning to travel along the borders to Burma and Cambodia. For travelers to those regions it is strongly recommended to consult your physician or a vaccination-center, since Malaria vaccinations and prophylactics change constantly and need to be adapted to your physical conditions.
MedicationAny medication or medical devices you’d like to bring to Thailand should be prescribed by your physician. There will be no problem for medical devices carried along, as long as you can produce your physician’s prescriptions or a statement to the effect that you depend on the device.Visa RegulationsOn October 1, 2006, the Immigration Bureau of Thailand started to strictly enforce a law passed in 2004 that states, that no foreigner can stay in Thailand for more than 90 out of 180 days with a visa-on-arrival stamp. If you did not apply for a tourist visa with a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate General in your home country, you’ll receive a “visa-on-arrival” stamp upon your arrival in Thailand that permits you to stay in the country for 30 days. For up to a period of 90 days you could extend your stay by simply crossing the border into Burma, Malaysia, Laos or Cambodia and returning to Thailand. Upon reentry to Thailand you’ll receive a new stamp for 30 days. Before Thailand started to enforce the law mentioned above, it was possible to repeat the procedure indefinitely. Now you can reenter Thailand maximum twice for a maximum stay of 3 x 30 days. After that you’ll not be allowed to enter into Thailand for a period of 90 days. If you are planning to stay longer than 30 days, we’d strongly advise you to apply for a tourist visa with an embassy or consulate before you leave your home country, since the issuance of tourist visa in third countries (other than your home country) has been restricted severely since October 1. More InformationYour country’s embassy in Thailand usually provides excellent information on their website.
